Every moment has
both an outer and inner location.

So where are you now?

Duh!  You are sitting on a chair or standing
in front of your computer screen. 

Good, that takes care of your outer location.

But where is the center of gravity or address
of your current mood or observer? 

It's valuable to know because you've got to be there
to really understand and change.




Finding your neutral balance is the dynamic side
of recovering your center. 

It's as though you have to first know where you are,
in general, to arrive where you want to go.

Just like there are maps for every city,
Nature has provided us with "maps" too.

Here is a simple yet effective practice
that loosens the glue of habit, thereby,
freeing you to find neutral in the midst of pressure.

THE ESSENCE OF THE PRACTICE

Sit at the front of your chair

Imagine that you are free
to move and/or be moved

upward

downward

to the front

to the back

Imagine that you are free
to move and/or be moved
in all possible directions.



This type of freedom is also associated with
true spontaneity and real control.

Any time you set into motion the forces of change, the defense forces of your habits are also activated.  If the resistance to becoming who you want to be seems too strong, then use this simple and basic practice: noticing, touching, accepting and releasing. It might help to relax the subtle tensions of mind and heart that seem to lock you into an undesired state.
